The Bone & Biscuit Heritage Valley is busy stocking shelves for their opening day on August 3rd, 2018. We will be inviting friends, family and the community to come visit us and see why The Bone & Biscuit has become a household name, known for its high standard for natural foods, supplies and accessories.

2. Where are you located?

Phone: 587-520-3504

4. What’s your name?

Joshua & Cecilia Field. We also have a 3-year-old daughter, Olivia, who you may see “helping” from time to time!

5. Who else has been integral to the opening of the new store?

This is a family operated store, with Joshua working full time, and Cecilia working part-time. We are fortunate to have lots of help and support from family on the home front.

6. Do you own any cats or dogs?

We have a large German Shepherd named Shinobi (Ninja in Japanese). While he looks like a fierce assassin, he’s actually a grumpy, old, lazy giant. At 9 (human) years old, Shinobi enjoys basking in the sunlit hallway of our home and “guard” the front door. He is always vigilant to notify us of another animal passing by but is otherwise quiet and stoic. We hope to bring him to the store one day, but he will mostly be manning his post back home.

7. What has inspired your interest in owning a Bone & Biscuit location?

We had first heard of the Bone & Biscuit in 2009 when we got our little GSD puppy. We bought him puppy food from a local grocery store, thinking it was good for him. Unfortunately, Shinobi had so many problems growing up, seeing the emergency vet every few months. We finally found that he had Panosteitis, and inflammation of the bones. We were a bit weary of all the medicine and drugs that were being pushed onto us when a friend of ours recommend we try switching to raw food. We decided to try and within weeks, all of Shinobi’s ailments disappeared! His coat, eyes, ears, paws, and teeth all improved. Now, we want to help other dogs, cats, and their owners to feel the same relief and joy we did. We want everyone to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

8. Shinobi hit the jackpot now that you run a specialty pet supply store! What kind of toy/treat does he currently love?

Shinobi loves his Carnivora Chicken Dinner, Bully Sticks and freeze dry liver treats. Fortunately, we are fully stocked!

9. Where is the nearest dog park?

The beautiful new Paisley Dog Park is the closest to our store. It’s fully fenced and has a fun agility playground for off-leash fun! Check them out at 3051 Paisley Green SW.

10. What is the best advice you could give to new pet owners?

Nutrition matters – do your own research and listen to your pet! What are the ingredients? What is the composition? From where is it sourced? Does your pet enjoy it? Is your pet behaving normally? A healthy pet is a happy pet!

Thanks for the spotlight Joshua & Cecilia!
